As a student I have used Microsoft Word mostly to write papers for my classes. Sometimes I have used it to create graphs and tables for my science and math classes but not very often. My teachers have used it to create tests and quizes. Sometimes they also use it to create a syllabus at the beginning of the class or rubric to give for the class for projects or papers. Most often teachers use other Microsoft applications, especially Powerpoint.

I will probably use Microsoft word the same way as my teachers before me, to create tests and quizes. I will probably also use it to create syllabi and rubrics. I may also use it to create my own worksheets or homework if i feel it is necessary or the ones provided do not fit my lessons.

One thing I have learned so far is how to compress a folder, which will be really helpful as a teacher because I will have a lot of information on my computer and it will help me keep things organized and make sending things easier if need be. I have also learned how to create a pdf file. this will be beneficial in my classroom if I find something on a website that I like. I can just make the information into a pdf file and have it readily accessable for my students. I have also learned how to create a mail merge document. This will make sending personalized letters home to the parents without spending hours creating individual letters.
